Appraisal

The classic car insurance company won't provide coverage at that level without the 24/7 system on the garage. :W

Also, they made me promise to sleep in it when away from home. ;)

you can squeeze a king sized bed in it can't you?
plenty of room behind the seats......... afterall, it's not a convertible.
;LOL

Radio shack sells a real affourdable home alarm system,Real easey to install if you can build a car (as you have) you can install one of these systems easely in an afternoon.

I have a freind with a large collection of cars and on this years collector car insurance renual. He was asked to submit to the collector car insurance company a certificate of insurance on the garage (covered under his homeowners policy )that he has the cars stored in showing the homeowners insurance is to be considered the primary insurance company. in the case of fire or theft.

Needless to say this has become a problem.

1-because the homeowners policy was asking for a sprinklers system to be installed, and they are also asking hime to schedule the cars.(meaning they want an entire list of all cars in the garage with there value and they will assume the liability on the listed cars with a premium increase.)

He has allot of valuble cars.I mean allot

Anyways the price the homeowners policy wanted to schedule the autos was ridiculous. It seems the collector car insurance company he is using has a threshold on what they will wright on a total collection prior to asking for primary insurance from some one else.

He was able to dodge the bullet this year by putting 2 of the cars in his collection with another collector car insurance.

It took a while for me to find out from his collector car insurance why they were changing the way they did buisness but the higher I got into the company the more they knew and once I found out what the problem was he just removed the two cars from the policy.

I should have such problems.(collection too large for insurance company to take the risk)

He is still thinking of doing a sprinkler system (just in case)

He is now nervous that he opened a can of worms with his homeowners policy and is afraid of what they might want on renual.

Good Luck Bob and a 24/7 system is not a bad thing

Thanks for your confidence in me, Larry, but I'm suddenly up against the calendar, and I'm already too busy.

Besides, there's been a recent upheaval re Radio Shack in Canada. They are no more.

I actually worked in a car stereo store where the owner would buy the bums Mcdonalds and beer if they would sleep outside his store at night. Best security he ever had.:beer

The alarm installer starts tomorrow morning. He says a day-and-a-half to do what we want in the garage and the house.

I guess for security reasons this is one time we shouldn't expect progress pics
;LOL

Yeah I bet...... But I bet you'll have a ground level room with a window view of the Heaven. Whish I could attend but my Rat Wagon is still in pieces and will be about another 4-6 weeks. And...... it's summer down here in Casino Town.....All the Blue Hairs and Cue Tips will be out in force with there nickels and pennies to jam into the slot machines. And I have to deal with all the big Ego Entertainers that come thru our Theater...It's tough to get away.
The Up Side??????...... Thong's on the Board Walk At lunch time.....
Yeah...love those 2 hour Lunches....

I already gave him a stroke (but a good one) this week when I showed him the appraiser's report, including very positive comments about the bodywork and paint. The appraiser even included the shop's name in his summary.

The painter is over the moon. :_rock

Meanwhile, I paid the new, much-larger insurance premium today. :cry

What about lending Bob your faithful watchdog you showed us a picture of a little while back to guard the car overnight? If someone sneaks up and looks in the window and that looks back at them they'll be rendered helpless from laughing, I know I would be!;LOL .

The alarm system is installed and WOW is it neat and complex. The bad guys are in for a rude surprise. ;LOL

I faxed the Certificate in to the insurance company and they faxed me back what I wanted. Full proof of (19A - Canada) coverage. If the car's gone.......no debate.....an agreed value cheque (er.....check ;) ) is on its way. The policy will come by snail mail.

Thanks IH2Lose for your input on the importance of "agreed value".

Now, if I could just bang that last friggin' piece of reveal moulding home, the car would be ready for Bowling Green.

By any chance was that YOUR alarm going off at about 9 PM last night? I've never heard that particular one before and it was LOUD! If not someone has subwoofers on their car alarm! Another itemoff your to do list:upthumbs .

Kurt available to give any suggestions on the trim? Can you drive '67 over to the shop for him to see it? (The piece is locked safely onto the other clips)
