Are power tops on constraint?

Waiting for Daytona Sunset Orange Z51 Convertible
I read on Rob's post that power tops are going to be "ramped up" by 3/21. Does anyone know if that means no orders are being taken for power tops until then or just that production is not at maximum capcity until then?

What is a 60% constraint? My order went in a week ago for the power top and Z51. Does my order get a 6 out 10 chance to get a build date this week or what???How do you find out theses things? I called GM and the young lady said I don't know when/where/how??Pretty much what my dealer told me. Everyone is kept in the dark? We (Corvette owners or to be owners -again in my case) should unite and tell Chevy that we are not going to take this anymore? Or do we simply have to?

First the only way you will get a built date this week is if your dealer has an allocation this week. The 60% mean that of all the orders GM accepts this week (form dealers with alloction) only 60% will be convertibles. Your dealer should be able to tell you if they have an allocation. They three months out what their allocations are.

I appreciate your information; I will check with my dealer who forgot to tell me if he had an allocation.

Both converts and Z51s are frequently "on constraint." You may be in for a long wait or an 06, but I hope you slip in soon!

Another Twist

My wife checked with the dealer and he said that those are definitely constraints. AND -The color selected is Millenium Yellow- he says that the last date for Vettes to be Millenium Yellow is April 3rd. The chances of me getting the car I ordered is probably worse than drawing to am imside straight flush! This sucks. This makes for a very grumpy old man!

So if your dealer has 1 allocation for the week, you have a 60% chance that your order will be accepted. If he has 2 allocations, 1 should be a vert. Does he have anyone else waiting, or are you No. 1?

New Red

Does anyone know where to view the new color red that is replacing Mag Red? A friend has ordered a vert with Red Mag. I get the impression he may miss the Mag Red and would like to know what the replacement color looks like. A vert, Z51 and mag Red. I think he may be in for a wait. Any guesses?

He has 3 others but they were ordered back in Sept/Oct/Nov; these are for ragtops and they have not come in yet.. As far as I know, I am the only new order since those guys. This dealer is very closed about info. He tells me he has 8 allocations; he sold three Vettes from his stock (coupes); the 3 ordered in the Fall leaving two more of which i is mine. But when the allocation pops up is an unknown. I frankly don't know what to do; other than to let it ride for a month or so and if no action like a build date comes up, cancel the order or hang on to it. Any suggestions as to what specific questions that I should ask the dealership?
