I was tossing around the idea of selling my 1993 Corvette and was wondering what I should ask for. It is white with black leather interior, 6 speed, loaded. It has 29,000 miles on it. I live in New Jersey.
Assuming that everything on the car works and is 29,000 mile shape.... Around here in South Carolina I wouldn't be surprised to see the car listed for around $14K. I'm no expert by any means, but I do look at every Vette Trader that comes out etc.
I would say it depends on the condition of the car. Does it represent 29,000 miles. The new Indiana Auto and RV just came out today. I saw a 89 with 41000 miles for 15k. I also saw a 90 with 35,000 for 15,900. I would go in that range for your car. However with out seeing it I cant really say. Shop around and make sure you dont leave any money on the table.
You should decide on a price for your car. What do you feel is the cars worth? After all is said and done you have to be comfortable with the sale. I have an 84 in good shape and would not sell it for under $10,000.
Try www.kbb.com and check PVT seller, trade-in and retail prices. In my experience, dealers will offer $1-3k below wholesale and a PVT would rarely bring retail.
I shop first, for the car I am selling, to get a feel for what the competition is in price and quality of machine.
Be real careful; people get hurt selling cars. mike
