Just not in the mood to head out to the Garage and grab the owner's manual from the console.....

But curious.. Is it supposed to light up or click when pressed?
Does another ASR display light come on or flash elsewhere on the DIC maybe?

Curious on turning the ASR on and off..

Thanks
Rain

And if it does nothing, whats that mean?

I don't hear a click, the button doesn't light up, it does "move" when pressed..
but I do not recall a light on the DIC when pressed.

Hooked it up to the ODBII a few months ago and had no codes..

Screwed?

Do a test!:D Push the button, push and hold the gas. If the tires spin, then your button works, and the light in the DIC needs to be replaced. If the ASR kicks in, push the button again and repeat test. If on the second time your tires spin, then once again your button works, but the light needs to be replaced.

Roger that!

(assuming I should also have the brake locked when putting my foot in the gas or else Im going to lift off faster than that space probe landed in the desert) hahahaha ;LOL

So no backlight in the ARS button itself.. what a shame - already one for the fog lamps.. why not the ASR.

Thanks!
Rain

It's been a long time since I looked at that button in the dark, can't remember either.
It definitely does not click on my 92 but I get the ASR OFF light on my DIC when I push it and the tires difinitely spin! :)

Push in, ASR OFF on the DIC. I don't think it lights up on the dash. I call it the Nanny. A buddy calls it the Guvnah. It saved me once in a corner maneuver and righted a fish tail, so I also call it a blessing. Try driving in the rain without it on carefully to learn appreciation.

Many hate this feature, but you can always buy the kit that reverses the logic, on when you want it. That's working without a net. I like to disable it manually for tire shredding, it's like getting ready to take off in a jet!

When I was stock it worked good! Since I have moded the car a little;) By the time the ASR comes on its too late!!!!:L

Well have not had a chance to test it. but coming home last night I hit a patch of gravel in a right hand turn and the buzzing from the rear wheel that was slipping was audible and the ASR Active light, lit up.
(and went off once I was out of the rocks)

Guess that means its working, but I still can't tell when its on or when its off.

ASR is defaulted to be on every time the engine starts. All you have to do is remember if you pushed the button or not..... now if you have a bad case of CRS, maybe you should replace the bulb in the dash. :L
Taking the front panal off to expose the lamps is very simple, 5 minute job. You do need to tilt the steering wheel full down to clear it on the way up and out.

so there is another ASR light besides the ACTIVE one I got yesterday?

But its still located in the center display and not around the guage cluster, right?

Correct. It says ASR OFF.
