It says B28 meaning Oct 28th of 65 so is this the day they started production of my car? or is it the day it was completed.

And also if some one can please explain the body number what its purpose what
B28 is indeed October 28th. The trim tag was applied after body painting. The rest of the trim items would then be applied and the car would be rolled to the final assembly area to be mated to its undercarriage, usually about a day and a half to two days later. The body number was basically a production tracking device. Your car had the 1402nd convertible body that came off the St. Louis asembly line for model year 66. Your car's VIN should indicate that your vette was "born" somewhere between 10/29/65 and 11/2/65. The 29th was a Friday that year, no work during the week-ends. I'm assuming you know what the rest of the numbers on your trim tag mean.

Yes, it's a silver blue car. I speced out a Sebring Silver Z06, but always wanted a convert, so I ordered a Daytona Blue one. The next day I went back and changed the order to Silver Blue. I had a light metallic blue 55 Chevy that I loved, and Car and Driver had a Silver Blue Convert on the cover, and that convinced me to go with Silver Blue. Soooo, my copy of the handwritten order says Daytona Blue, but the typed up one states Silver Blue.

I don;t think you will get the attention to a Silver Blue car that you would with a red one. I've won several best of show with my car back in the days when there were no rebuilt from scratch show cars, but there was this one that was painted red that would sometimes beat me. The paint may not have been any better, but it just shows better. Besides, some people think All Corvettes are Red.. chuckle :)

One other thing, the cars color changes a lot depending on the brightness of the sun picking up the metallic. More silver looking then, and more blue-looking on an overcast day.
