w/ enough boost, yes 540hp is capable, but i doubt you'd see it w/ the typical 6-8psi those blowers push.

Is it safe, yeah its very safe, just as long as you dont push the boost too high. Then you'll get into problems w/ detonation, as well as frying your torque converter, melting pistons and so forth. (Btw, if you do get it, it might be a good idea, to go ahead and get a higher stall torque converter...Yank seems to be highly recommended)

If you've got the right tools you can do it @ home, but it may take awhile. But, it may be a better idea to get it professionally installed...

Hope this helps

I'm also considering the Procharger, but I'm putting it off until other upgrades (brakes, shocks, swaybars). I've got their brochure and it seems fairly easy to install and reliable (3-yr warranty). As has already been stated, if you stick to low boost you'll be safe and still get significant increases in HP. And an added benefit is you don't need a modified hood. Makes you a real "sleeper", except for that whirr. If you want to be radical, then you're taking chances and need professional help (mechanical or psychological....you make the call).

super chargers

I went to the Sema show in Las Vegas and looked at several brands.... that were on display..you might want to look further at how much stuff you have to relocate, and your ground clearances on a couples of them.
I would seuugest you ask for a video or see one in person to look at exactly what has to be done.

The cleanest installation and best ground clearance, in my opinion was the Lingenfelter..
it was really great... and very powerful.
