[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Owners should be reminded not to use an ice scraper on the headlamps of the 2005 Corvette. The exposed headlamps are covered by clear plastic lenses that have a hardcoated material applied at the supplier to resist scratching. Trying to clear snow, ice, or frost with a sharp instrument (ice scraper) could damage the hardcoat material and make the lens susceptible to scratching.

The following are some suggested methods for clearing the lens surface of snow, ice, or frost.
- water to melt the deposit
- cloth
- credit card
- rubber squeegee

Thanks Rob. Ice isn't a big problem here on the surface of the Sun(Vegas) but I'm sure the other members will appreciate the heads up.

If you have Ice on your corvette you are wrong.:D

Good info I had no idea it was plastic.

Good point, not that we get much ice in No Texas.
