I have an 84 with the 700r4 and would like thew fun of driving a stick Corvette I got an estimate from a local Vette shop that was compleetly outragous for using a Used part.

Have any of you done this???

Thanks in advance,
Chris :beer

Its been done...but expencive... you are better off selling your Corvette and buying a manual.

The problem with that is I love her and I think that I could be done for a lot less than this guy wanted. I have to check out E-Bay and see if anyone is selling there 4+3 to start off with.

he wanted 8000.00 to do the swap with a used 4+3 ridiculas if you ask me!:r

You are also forgetting...you will need the bell housing, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, slave cylinder, master cylinder, clutch fork, pedel, assorted harnesses, new ECM, new driveshaft...and if I am not mistaken...maybe a new centerbeam and rearend. I'm not positive about teh last two.

It would be cheaper to go buy another Vette off Ebay with the 4+3 than spend 8k.

The Good, wait, Great News of that is now you would have TWO Corvettes......

<--------workin on number 2 now.......lol

Cheers :beer
