Anyone heard or experienced problems with the overdrive gear on a C6 automatic? A couple of people I've talked with are saying it seems like their trans are slipping when accelerating between 40 and 60 mph without stomping on the accelerator.

There are no bulletins or preliminary information about a condition such as this.
In over 50 that I have driven, I have not experienced this, but its not to say it doesnt happen.
I would suggest more details are needed here.
