The shifter button seems to be getting harder to push in , you really have to push hard , hold it for a second or two before it will let you engage another gear , I manage alright , but my lovely spousette ,(who I bought the vette for) cant seem to get it to go....anybody else have this happen , it's making my life unpleasant when she cant drive her "baby".

btw... this is not the "torque lock" listed in the owner's manual.

The grease used on the mechanism is getting old. My parking brake ceased to function just because the grease had turned to glue. Try lubeing up the lock mechanism with some lithium grease.

HI there,
You might also want to check on the shifter lock out adjustment, or BTSI, which is the term that your service department uses.
The solenoid may not be working correctly, or be out of adjustment.
Allthebest, c4c5
