Automatic Shifter Knob!

I am trying to get the automatic shift knob off of my 86 to replace the booty. I do not want to force anything by twisting, turning, or pulling.

Pop the button off of it and then look down in there,there is a small snap ring around the shaft!! Have Fun!!
