I think if you contact B&M they may decide to make one if they get enough contacts. I bought the"Hammer,"afew years ago then took it back because it was too much trouble to install.
I put in the B&M Megashifter that they make for the '82-93 F body console mount. Can't remember their part number. It took a bit of cutting on the top console plate of the Vette to get it to fit through. It bolted to the tunnel pretty well. I had the tranny out of the car at the time so it was easy to get it bolted down from underneath. I don't know if you would be able to get the nuts up there with the tranny in place. The rubber boot that comes with it isn't long enough to reach the console plate. I showed it to a guy that does custom interior work and he said it would be very easy for him to make a nice leather boot to fit. The shifter looks kind of high in the picture but it is in the perfect position as far as I'm concerned. I have a manual valve body th400 with a Gear Vendors overdrive so I have to shift every gear. It is very natural to grab it and slam it up or down to shift. I'm happy I put it in.
Hey Bob86zz4.
Thanks for the pick. That actually looks pretty good. Curious as to how you got that TH400 in there. Where you able to use the tail shaft housing from the 700R4?
Oh no, I bought the Gear Vendors overdrive for the Vette and it has fittings for a torque arm to bolt to. You have to cut the stock torque arm shorter and re-drill it. I couldn't get it to work for me 'cuz I'm not smart enough so I just engineered and fabricated a completely new torque arm. Take a look at my web site, I have a page devoted entirely to the swap. Here's a picture that kind of shows it tho:
