Folks,

Today at 9pm is the airing of Autorox on SpikeTV (DirecTV Channel 325). The Sledgehammer was one of the nominees in one of the categories and which many of you may have voted. Lets see if it won in its category...

so far, one Corvette has won :cool

...stay tuned????????

Luigi - is your TIVO on?????????? :m

I didn't Tivo it....

but I believe the Sledgehammer might have lost out to the Enzo.
At least the C6 won in 2 categories.

The categories/nominees are no longer on the AutoRox website

Ken,

Thanks for the link and the awesome pics...

What a bunch of hype. It was pretty stupid. Just what we needed another award show. What a waste of video tape. Caroll Shelby's speach was just plain silly. He mentioned Lee Iacocca and no one in the audience reacted. They were clueless. He didn't even know what the hell the award was about.

If it wasn't for the few moments they showed the cars and the little bit of music I would have turned it off. That Kid Rock guy is very talented. He was the best part. At least the Vette got a little air time.

But IMHO Autorox, Autosux

The WWF format was not very desireable. I would have preferred a better description of the cars and what makes them special rather than all of the flashy noisy stuff. Though the eye candy was nice.

It's all Hollywood. You gotta look past that to get to the meat and potatoes that we all want; that is, the cars! :cool

Very true Ken - but man, the glitz was kinda detracting overall :(

I bet it was neat to see the cars during the taping portions as I saw the still pics in the other thread :cool

I was not all that impressed.... They had Funk Master Flex as an expert on cars, iIf he is an espert then I am a genious :L I could have dealt with less Kid Rock, and more Carmen Electra. :D

As Hank Hill would say, "I'll tell you what!" :L

Hey, Funkmaster Flex has actually moved up a couple of notches in my book in the last few months; he knows a lot more than the show let's you see. ;)

I agree. Flex is ok in my book. The Funkmaster Flex Super Series race that he held was very cool. He even put up his own classic 69 camaro as a prize and Spike TV gave out nice cash prizes. He is a real car guy who is doing a lot for our hobby. He's even added more performance and racing related segments to his "Ride with Funkmaster Flex" show (besides the usual resto-mod restoration segments). Autorox may be a bit lame but don't kill the messenger (or guest host). I'll bet Spike TV made him do it anyway so I'm cutting him some slack on this one.

The twins on the History Channel's "Full Throttle" are pretty knowledgeable too, at least when it comes to the basics, but especially when it comes to imports.

Those guys in Hollywood got nothing on me! :L
