After getting all excited by Zaino threads here, I took my Vette to a car care center and asked them if they could wax the car. They said they do not just wax the car but rather apply a paint protection system. I said go for it. I watched them do the whole thing. Took almost 4 hours with a lot of buffing and different chemicals of all sorts. It looks great. All previous buffing marks are gone, some of the scratches dissappeared to a great extent. Looks nice. Costed me US$150. Sounds expensive, but worth it. It is good for one year.

The chemicals are from a German company called "Autowax Car Care". I have to shoot a few pictures and post them here. Waiting for the sun to come out.

That price doesn't sound excessive, given the amount of work involved. Great! Looking forward to seeing the pics. Did they do the inside too?

Bob

Nope, just did the exterior. Inside the car and engine compartment are for me only :). I do the engine with fine tooth brush and inside the car with cutips... I don't think it can get better than that :).

Cheers,

Selim

I let someone else do my cars for years before I found Zaino.

Did they give you an estimate how long their protection will last?

Let us know how long it does last.

Yeps, they said it will last for one year. Only exception is bird droppings... They said nothing is good against bird s**t. I told them I keep the car in the garrage. Upon their recommendation I also bought "shampoo that has wax" inside it. I will use it from now on.

I found Zaino products in one local web site but then by the time I get the right material and do it myself will be a long hassle and probably not as good. Zaino's web page scared me by the way; does not sound like a simple / quick process. That's why I got it done at this local shop.

All you need to do is EMAIL Sal Zaino and ask for help if you get confused. (sal@zainobros.com) He has never lied to me.

If you decide to try something else after a year, send Sal a note.

Problem is I should buy the materials from Turkey, advice from somewhere else, and if does not work it is loss of time & money. I know it is fun to do it yourself, but I am not good at taking risks :)

It's as easy as waxing your car twice. By the time you get to the part you started first, it's time for the second step.

I can understand your position. I don't know of anyone 1/2 the world away using Zaino.

Zaino could not be quicker or easier. It even dries faster than anything I have ever used now that the new Z2 Pro is out.
