Avon Tires?

I have noticed on TireRack that the two series of Avon tires available for our cars in size 275 40 17 rate at or near the top of the ratings for all tires in their respective performance levels. They are also relatively inexpensive---certainly a nice combination of factors! I am familiar with Avon tires, generally, and am wondering whether anyone out there has experience with them on a C4?

I have 255-50ZR16 Avon ZZ1's on my 84 and they are great. Decent in the wet and grippy as you could want when it is dry.

Personally, I would have to actually see the tires as I am not wild about their looks in the picture---BUT, even though they aren't that well known here in the U.S., Avon is a premium manufacturer and very well thought of abroad. I was just struck by that fact that they ranked at the top, or almost at the top in performance, yet in price were among the cheapest.

If they make car tires like they make motorcycle tires I'll be buying a set. I have a set on my Kawasaki ZX10 and love them!

Avons--Fusion ZRi

I considered the Avons alot. I just could not go without local support. I bought a set of Fusion ZRi tires. They are made by Bridgestone. It is to soon to really rate these tires but I will say they are extreamly quiet. Far better than the BFG kdws that I had. They seem to be better in the rain also, we will see.
