B&M Quicksilver Console shifter in '82?

My Father had an old Replica cobra and it had a Quicksilver 'slapshifter' that I thought was a lot of fun. It wasn't so much practical for an everyday car, because there was no 'put it in drive and go' mode. But, I've looked into their newer ones and the console ones for 700R4 Camaro and Firebird transmision have the shift mode and drive mode. I know my '82 has a 700R4 transmision, but the B&M site says nothing about corvette in the manual.

Has anyone had any experience with these shifters? Will they just drop right in to my '82?
