DW of C4ME here,

I'm new at this so please be gentle ;)

Looks like the main cooling fan relay needs to be replaced on our recently acquired '86 coupe. Is the 84-95 upgraded cooling fan relay worth the expense? What are the advantages?

Also, been looking at the #B4P 84-89 Aux cooling Fan Kit? Anyone added the B4P option and are you satisfied?

Blessings, C4ME's DW

I added the aux fan to my 86 coupe. Bought the kit off eBay for ~35-40 dollars with all-new parts. Had to get a relay and a way to actuate it. They're usually based on temperature, which is checked using a sensor between cyl's 1 and 3 (driver's side front). In my case, I wanted manual control so I wired the relay to a switch I installed under the dash by the ALDL connector. It was a major PITA to get to where some of the screws installed at, but all holes are pre-drilled. I like it, and it lets me cool the car more when waiting at the drag strip.
