well, it was a lonnnnnnggggg wait but Baby finally got painted yesterday.

He sprayed 3 coats of base color than wetsanded it down before spraying on the final coats of base color. Than two coats of clear.
He's letting the paint set up over the weekend than he said it will take about a weeks worth of wetsanding/blocksanding the clear and final buffing. after that it's reassembly time and Baby will be home again!
YAY!!!!!!! :D

the color in the pics is a bit off because of the lighting and the camera but in person she looks great. In person that paint looks about 3 feet deep and still looks like it's wet so after the wetsanding and buffing I think she will look spectaclar. This is so much more than i ever expected when i decided to do this project.
Oh, now that the car has color again other than just primer gray, it's really easy to see how the body lines really have come out with all the work Joe put into the car. I thought it looked pretty good before, but now that all the body filler from previous repairs was removed and Joe worked on every inch of the car the difference really stands out and is very noticable. It practically looks like a completely different car.
I'm very, very happy with the results and can't wait to see her after wetsanding and buffing.
The results, even now before the car is done, are so much more than I ever expected or imagined. It's been a long time coming but it was worth the wait. :beer

sorry about the quality of the pictures. the way he had the car sitting in the shop there was very little room to get any decent pics but it should give you an idea anyway

wow!! Looks great already! Sorry you don't have her for the long weekend, but looks like you are heading in the right direction.

I'm saving right now for a paint job... I have 5K, but I din't think that's enough to cover my needs.

Hi bigblock

thanks! I'm very excited, as if you couldn't tell ;LOL

PM if you want and we can talk about yours - you may be surprised on the cost of all this work that was done - surprised in a good way

It is looking Great! It is good to read some positive news from the Barry postings. A few more days and it will be home in the garage.

Ray

Hi Ray

thanks! yep, good news is a welcome change. :)

wish it was only a few more days but he is talking 2 weeks more. but at least we are getting really close

One word....

Suhweeeeet! Gorgeous paint job, Barry. :upthumbs

Looking great. I've enjoyed reading your postings and progress updates, nice to see the real results of all that work. Especially like the way the door seams came out. Fabulous. Congratulations on a job well done (well, nearly).

You have been very patient. It's paid off-you must be very proud and pleased. Good job. :)

Looking good Barry! We're happy that you're happy! Been a while since you sounded so up! Soon she'll be home!:upthumbs . Can see you smiling from here:D

Beautiful.....just beautiful...wait until Baby has clothes...the trim will add so so much. Hang in there Barry....things lookin good.

Hi Rods
yep, the results are well worth the long wait.
the door gaps were one area in particular I asked Joe to really make sure they came out good. gaps are sort of my pet peeve if they aren't correct and mine definately weren't before. I think he did a very good job in that area on both the doors and headlight buckets

Doug

the smile has been plastered on my face since i pulled up to the shop earlier and saw the tail end of the car poking out at me and it's still there!
:D

Collin

I know it hasn't been all that long since yours was in the paint shop so you know how i'm feeling (you too Ray!).
What a great feeling when i saw her with color today. and when i see her finished andall reassembled I'll be so excited I won't know what to do! I feel like a little kid on xmas morning..........and i'm jewish! ;LOL ;LOL

Thanks Paul!

Looks GREAT Barry. I can only begin to imagine how good you feel. If anybody deserves it, it's you.

Thanks Dennis

after the incident with my arm earlier this week I needed some happy news and this was it

Barry,

It is looking great! I know that you can't wait to be able to drive it again.

Regards, John McGraw

Barry, Very nice!!! I would love to have my 67 painted but the sharks out here in Los Angeles want up to $10,000 dollars for a job like yours and my car has a unhit virgin body!
