Do u have to get any other work done on the car...valve covers reskinned, anyting else? Just curious. she looks sooo good. I have been scouring ebay for things, but after talking with Norman Powell last wek at Sundance, I think I am goin to wait till Carlisle to pick up GOODIES...Norman has an interesting way of buying things up there.

Andy

next step after car is back is spring maintanance - oil and oil fiter change, valves checked, tires rotated, etc.

next major work will hopefully be at Carlisle to see if Al Knoch can still fit me in for an appointment to get my seats redone.
Than over the winter I want to get the valve covers, intake and exhaust manifolds reskinned and if we have it in the budget add A/C

Hi Pedro
yep, about time alright :)
and yes, I'm VERY excited! see Terry's question about "are you excited or is that a banana......." ;LOL

Barry,

Call Dale Robertson @ Knoch, 800 880-8080. Don't delay, I just got an appointment for the seats in my '60 and Dale told me he only had a few more spots left.

Terry

I just tried and they are closed today but i'll try first thing mon. morning.
i've been meaning to call them for about a week now but I kept forgetting.
maybe I'll get lucky and they will still have a spot available - if not, than onto plan B.

Party is a good idea....I can drive the Darlin' up to meet you and greet you.

I drink Miller Lite, too (unless the Canadian brothers bring some of that killer brew they keep up there):beer

So, let's start the planning....maybe Rick can roll out Lady, too

A little easier

Barry, You might have an easier time with Dale if you can do part of the work yourself before showing up at the show with your seats. Best case scenario would be for you to disassemble them, clean, repair, and paint the frames, ( they have limited resources at the show ) and come down with the four bare sections, ready to re-assemble. This way it would be less expensive for you, and they would most probably be less inclined to turn down your request.

BTW, when your at AL's, look directly across the isle, and I will be waving to you. :w

I will have some cold Canadian on ice, and any forum member is invited to stop in and sample our fine brew at I 101

thanks for the suggestion, it's a very good one but in my case it won't work.
i need the seats in the car and assembled because i'm driving the car to carlisle. about all i'll be able to do IF they can fit me in is to remove the seats from the car once I get there and lug them over to the Al Knoch booth.

Luckily, the seat frames are in excellent condition. The seats had been redone about 2 years ago by the PO during the restoration but like so many other things on the car they were done very poorly (and wrong!). The new leather covers, foam, everything needs to be replaced except for the frame itself.

you know, I just don't understand why some people do the things they do. it doesn't usually cost that much more to to something correctly rather than incorrectly so if you are going to spend the $$$ to have work done than at least make sure it's done properly. If you go the "cheap" route it ends up costing more in the long run because it will need to get redone anyway. Of course, if he knew at the time hew was going to sell the car than maybe he went cheap to just get it done figuring it wouldn't be his problem later on.
