our Corvette Club held our annual show today. We had a nice turnout of cars and the weather was perfect.
Like most clubs do, our own member cars were not judged as part of the show but there were a few trophies available to win seperate from the show judging. We had a People's Choice trophy that anyone could win, an Entrants Choice class that the participants voted on (included all cars including member cars that we had on display) and some other classes such as best paint, best interior, best engine, etc.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I AM NOT a trophy hound and I never go to shows looking to win or expecting to win. i'm just out for an enjoyable day. Having said THAT, I'll also say that it felt GREAT to finally get a trophy today.
Talk about complete and total shock when I heard my name called. I hadn't even been paying much attention to the awards presentation at the time and they had to call me twice before I heard my own name and than I went up and didn't even know what award or place I had won. Turns out I won FIRST PLACE for Entrants Choice. This was voted on by the shows entrants, not by any members of our own club (so I know it wasn't rigged 
). Wow! what a great feeling to be picked over so many beautiful cars and in my own opinion over many cars that I would have voted on over my own. but I guess some people liked my car today so i'll proudly put my trophy up on the shelf and smile when I look at it
