Today i noticed that my passenger side carpet was wet from coolant. I posted awhile back about steam like coolant coming out of my vents and most people said it was my heater core. So if i do the heater hose bypass thing it should solve both problems, right? I dont need my heat because i never drive the car when it gets cold. Thanks!

that could be one small reason it went bad, no new coolant running thur it much, so it rusted out and leaked. most likely?

i really have no idea how this happened. I just dont want to replace the block heater because of the horror stories i heard.

Heater bypass

The heater bypass is quick, cheap and reversible. And it will stop your steam and wet floor. Use a small (likely 1/2" or 3/4") copper pipe (one elbow and one 'street el') to make the 'U' turn. If you bend the hose sharply, it will kink.
I've done this to several cars just to limp along until the pita job of replacing the core got to the top of the list.
Heater cores go bad and they're usually the first part of the cooling system to corrode through.
Good luck.

Thanks, that's exactly what i wanted to hear. It seems easy enough to do and i can finally get rid of the steam and wet floor. Thanks for the pipe dimensions aswell!
