I just felt obligated to give people a heads up. About 6 months ago I installed a rebuilt master break cylinder from Eckler's (#A5126). It works flawlessly and their price was fine but... The finish has completely rusted through and it looks terrible. They won't take it back since nothing is "really" wrong with it. You might want to look elsewhere if you're shooting for a sharp looking engine compartment.

Was there a finish on it at all?Usually rough cast parts dont come with any paint or finish on them.Sometimes they are delivered coated with cosmoline which is just a light oil.

im getting ready to change mine next week....should i degrease, prime, paint, before i install?

What type of fluid are you using ? if its the regular fluid (not silacone) it ruins paint. If the master was painted and regular fluid got on it for sure it would ruin the paint. Just pull it off and re-finish it.
