Any thoughts on how to get half a tank of 3 year old gas out of a 1980 vette? It was not stabilized.

I've been given the following advice from various sources:
1. Mix it with premium and burn it off
2. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump and let it drain out

My own plan was to just stick a hose down the gas feed and suck it out, but I've been told that it will be difficult to get the line down there.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks!!

Like you thought, siphon it out. Get a length of CLEAR vinyl hose, about 6 or 7 feet, and a section of copper plumbing line to attach to it, like the chrome ones under your kitchen sink. That way you can reach down to the bottom of the tank.
The clear hose lets you see the gas coming before you get a mouthfull!
I'm always siphoning gas out of mine and dumping it into my work van. I can get enough gas out this way so that the car idles maybe 5 minutes before it runs dry.

dont waste your money trying to mix it with super ecspecially at these prices, drain the old crap out and run it through your lawn mower

also (around my area at least) a lot of stations have had problems with high test fuel breaking down because of the new additives ..the reason for it is simple, at 4 bucks a gallon people arent using it as much and ist sitting in the tanks.... this came directly from a member of weights and measures for the state when it managed to almost kill my mothers 06 bmw last month

Depends what you mean 'bad gas'. If it's contaminated with water or dirt then siphon it out. If it's just 'old' then add new gas on top of it and off you go.

There's lots of urban legends about gas going bad 'overnight', most of them are false.
