what are the signs of bad gas?

i was running low [car was running perfect], i went into a gas station, put 20 liters in it. started the car up and drove away...not 1 minute down the road it started to choke and miss. got the car home and ran a scan for error codes [even though the ses light didnt come on] and got no codes to flash.

did i get p!ss instead of super 93 gas? just wondering.:mad

Sounds like you did...the part about only going a short didtance down the road is a big clue...try some dry gas, perhaps the gas stations tank is leaking and you got some water along with your gas...

And if YOU are having the gas problem...go here

hey there,
your probably right, but make sure your gas cap is on tight and not cross-threaded,might have to add some gas treatment.later,Todd.

I experienced a similar problem and found that all the gunk that had accumulated in my tack had at "low tide" been drawn to the filter screen at the pickup, and it was like putting saran wrap over the bottom of a straw.
You may want to consider pulling the filler neck unit (8 bolts, 3 hoses and one electrical connector), and replacing the pickup screen, ($7.85 at my local Pep Boyz), and it can be done in about an hour.

i just replaced the fuel pump not 5 000 miles ago. i will check the filter screen tomorow. thanks for the info.
