Don't worry this gets technical. Girlfriend and I broke up tonight and I sold my Porsche. 2 unrelated incidents resulting in an action popular in the male gender although rarely understood. We buy more toys.
So, the Vette gets Longtubes and exhaust and a cam.
I'm going with Kooks and probably going to use a custom grind from the guys at Cartek. Any info on them? Everything I've heard from them seems to be right on the money ( I like to play ignorant at first and see what kind of crap I'm shoveled) Seem to have the stick on C6 tuning. Looking forward to losing the adaptive torque.
I hope one fo the Techs jumps in here because from what I can gather there is some conflicting information on this adaptive torque thing. I'll spell it out from what I gathered... just keep in mind its second hand and I have nothing to determine it's validity.
From what I understand the big 3, Dodge, Ford and GM are making motors with more and more power. Unfortunately the drive trains are not up to snuff. So somebody gets this great idea to create a computer driven program to ease into the power under hard loads. They do this on the Vette by timing and throttle position. Tuners have discovered this little secret by looking at the lines of code in the computers. Its not supposed to be that big a deal on the 6 speed cars but certain companies have seen 4 mph in the quarter by disabling this feature. Of course you need to ask yourself at what expense? If GM did not think dumping 400 pounds of torque on these clutches was a good idea than why should we? Well simply put... they make better clutches then these.
Again, I'm no expert or even owning half a clue when it comes to this. Its just some info I came across looking into the tuning aspect or the cam. Somebody here has to have some better info or a complete story.
