So I have a really bad problem which no one seemes to be able to solve (for now)... I live in Munich Germany and it seems that most mechanics here lack an in depth knowledge to solve this. I have an '82 Vette L83 that's been kept absolute stock. It always ran perfect until I gave it to Opel(GM-Germany) over a year ago for a routine check up. Since I got my car back, It never ran right again.
I now have the timing set to 12 degrees, in order to drive at all without backfiring, and must keep easy on giving gas due to bad engine knocking at higher rpms. The compression is just great for a 20 year old motor. We put in a new timing chain to eliminate slack, new plugs and wires, all hoses renued, new air filters, new belts, new distributer assembly(electronic), new solinoids for automatic throttle adjustment and replaced all gaskets.
Just wondering if this problem rings a bell by anyone.
thanks, orty...
