My Magnaflows will be arriving on Friday (from Performance Peddler on eBay, $320 shipped). I was wondering about the resonator and the crossover. I figure if I am going to spend the money on the exhaust, I might as well do it all at the same time. Well, except for headers. I've read about people putting the balance tube as far forward as they could, or as far rearward. What's the scoop on that? I've been told it would be cheaper to order a crossover and have it installed, rather than having a shop make one. Does anyone know of some websites that sell these? They seem hard to find for a '93. Is there really a HP increase w/ one installed, or is it just for less resonance? One more question, anyone recommend a good exhaust shop in the San Antonio, TX area?

Oh well, thanks for trying Ken. I guess I'll try removing the resonator and installing a tube. I love the tone of these mufflers, but they are not really loud enough for me. They need just a little more volume.

Curious... What makes the LT-1 different at the rear Y-pipe from an L-98? One would think they're the same dimensions, but as you say, it seems to be difficult locating a Y-pipe with a crossover tube for Corvettes built after 1991. F-bodies? Now that's a different story. :L

In trying to locate something for you, I came across a site for new GM products called Stainless Works. Check 'em out, they've got a ton of exhaust products. :upthumbs

LT1-MP.......

I just had a crossover tube made for my rear y-pipe on an L98 for $20 at the muffler shop. I have an L98 but shouldn't make too much of a difference.

I can't say how much it helped only because my old y-pipe had holes and I replaced rear y and added flowmaster 40 mufflers. Almost no resonance and they are almost hard to hear from the inside. Outside they sound deep, but now what you would expect from Flowmasters and hollowed out cat.

I guess the crossover tube made a difference!!!!!

Anyway, tell your muffler guy you're friend had one done for $20, and you should be able to get it done for around that.
