Bob,

At least it wasn't the oil pan! ;)

Thank God*. Fortunately, the scattershield is quite a bit lower than the pan.

I had the same issue with the Lakewood bellhousing on my Grand Sport; after snagging the bottom of the bolting flange (lightly) on a railroad crossing, I cut the entire flange off the bottom with a straight-across cut about 6" wide, and had no more problems. Also solved my trailer-loading problem; I had a beavertail floor in the trailer, but it still snagged on the rear edge of the beavertail until I cut off the flange. Never tried a speed bump, but it probably would have hit.

Mac, I love the part where the guy filming say's "I think he's scared" than the Z06 blows by them like they were in reverse! ;LOL

Exactly!! Funny how their tune changed.... :L

Unless my ear is gone completely, the guy in the Vette didn't push his engine even close to the redline... whereas the ricer was pinned... and losing...

last year at Carlisle I was parked at the very end of the '63-'67 registry and across from me there were a number of Lingenfelter Vettes. At noontime on Sat they took 1 minute and honored Chip Miller by everyone starting their motors and revving them than a moment of silence. During the revving, I couldn't even hear my car with side pipes revved up to about 4000 rpms because of a supercharged Lingenfelter right across from me - his whine from the supercharger was so loud it was unbelievable! The Z06 in the vid was less than 1/4 volume of that car at Carlisle so you are probably right - the guy in the Z06 was just playing with the ricer big time and wasn't showing any of his cars real potential. And why should he against a ricer! :D

67heaven quote " If I had it to do again, I'd chose a rear gear ratio in the 2's rather than the 3.08:1. In first gear, the Richmond 5-speed causes me to hit 3,500 rpm at 20mph. And, even lower rpms at 85mph on the freeway would be nice -- approximately 3,000rpm right now."

Where do you get a gearset in the 2's to fit in the housing? I also use 3.08s in my diff but my 2.5:1 1st gear muncie winds higher in first with about the same rpm at 80.

PS I knew there was a reason these cars came with 5 inch ground clearance.
