Base Timing

It's funny but I had the same thing happening to my 86 C4 and it turned out to be the intake manifold leaking. Some one before me had taken it off and was not very care about how they put it back on and this cause the leak. Oddly enough it didn't run bad but it wouldn't smoke the tires.I now can smoke my GS1 Goodyears.... Good luck

Yeah I had/have a couple of leaks. It was leaking on the passenger side about in the middle, right by the EGR tube, but I dried that up, and it hasn't come back yet. It is leaking up by the Thermostat housing on the drivers side, the front two bolts. I can see the coolant leaking around the two bolts and down the side of the block. I am just hoping that they need re torquing. Is there anyway to get to those without taking to much stuff off?

I hate to be the barer of bad news but if it's leaking you need to replace the intake gaskets...all of the injection needs to come off. The distributor pull out and what ever else. It's not hard just time involed. Make sure when you go back together you use a good torque wrench and torque pattern. Good luck.
