I recently purchased a new set of Delco copper battery cables to replace the original aluminum ones on my 1980 L82. I noticed the new negative cable has a pigtail where the original didn't. The GM shop manual wiring diagram doesn't show any pigtail on the negative cable. The only logical steel piece it will reach is the lower half of the bird cage behind the driver's seat. The rear defogger and power antenna relays bolt to this but have their own ground wires running to them in the harness. The only other electrical item I can find attached to the bird cage is the dome/courtesy light door jamb switches and the pigtail would provide a more efficient ground there. I would appreciate any feedback from other Shark owners who had a similar experience with this :w

Many aftermarket cables have a pigtail where the original ones did not. Tape it back to the main cable or clip it off. I'd tape it back- someday you may need an extra direct battery ground- (like an igintion box?)
