battery corrosion

I was wondering what people are useing to clean up the battery compartment and neutralize any build up of gunk

As far as cleaning the post go, I use baking soda mixed with a bit of water. When it has the consistency of paste, I just put it on and it takes care of any acid build-up. Put a battery mat underneath, the corrosion will eat through the compartment over time. I don't know of any way to neutralize the stuff. I suppose that it's just a matter of up-keep.--Bullitt
