Alt is not recharging the battery. I read 13.85V at the + terminal of the battery and at the Bat + on the Alt. Revving the eng gets no change at either terminal. My service manual says that there is a large resistance between No 2 term. on the Alt to ground. I read 14.8K. Thats not large. Any one know what I should read from pin 2 to ground on a GM alt? Thanks

13.8 is not a dead battery. 11 volts would be dead. Just put a volt meter across the pos and neg terminal. Start the car should read about 13.8 to 14.7 if so your alternator is ok. If reading drops while reving check for a slipping belt. If it is ok yiu may have a bad connection or starter problem.:beer
