battery dead c-6 corvette?

Basically I'd just disconnect the negative and hook up a battery charger until it's fully charged .Hook up the negative and torque to 11 lbs .That is what I would do.:D

Make life easier

I put a ctek 3300 with a cig lighter adapter on at the week of each weekend. The Vette is not my DD.

Now that will first charge your battery, but also keep it in its best condition. Best of all the ctek will warn you when you begin to have battery issues.

The owners manual and the fuse box in the engine compartment both have connection instructions for jumps, etc.

Dead battery = windows indexing also in the OM.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info! I was not sure if you could just charge the batt. and go I know I will have to reset everything radio, ect. Was not sure what the on board computers would do.

I store my car 4-6 wks at a time .I disconnect the battery just like GM recommends .I have never had to do anything except re-set the clock .I found it no more complicated than a Ford :D

I also buy a new battery every couple years.I take the old one out and stick it in my wifes car .Ya have to clean it all up so she thinks she's getting a new one.;)

By the way ,Welcome to CAC

Do batteries die frequently in 06 C6? I've had mine 2 mos., bought it w/ 20k miles. I plan to put a new batt in tomorrow after having this one tested. Are electrical problems common on 06 C6?

I really think that there isn't anything wrong with Vette batteries that driving the cars won't cure.

Yep that's pretty much correct! With that being said, computers continue to draw down the battery when your not driving your C6. The battery will get pretty low in about 3 weeks of inactivity. I bought a battery tender, or float charger, as they are referred to for $10 at Harbor Freight. You can pay $30 or more but why would you want too? There is also one that plugs into your power connection if ya don't want to connect to the battery. Unfortunately it's been cold with snow flurries and tons of salt on the road for weeks now so mine is sitting in the garage with a tender connected to the battery. Next week is looking better so yahoo! Just make sure to disconnect the tender before ya try to start the engine or you will fry it........:lou
