Thanks in advance.

Drive on over to your local Auto Zone.Thay should have a big selection hanging up by their battery section. The store in Glassboro had the knob type & also the knife switch type.

Thanks for your reply Brian.
Unfortunately, that style will not work. The battery on my '69 has its poles off the rear of the battery and they are not standard if you now what I mean. I need soenthing different.....
Jim
Sure, Any parts store should have them or can get them. The knob style is good because you can pull the knob and put it in your pocket for extra securty.
I think this is what your talking about,

This is the one I use for both of my Chevy's ( http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=77725 ). There's also an adapter for the side post style battery. I used the other type with a removable key (I got from Advance Auto) - it was unreliable and had problems. This one works perfectly.

OK, I did some homework. I have a side post battery mount. There appears to be two (2) ways to mount a battery disconnect, one with the knob approach & one with a "blade" approach. Knowing how little room I have in my battery compartment & my desire to save my knuckles, I'll probably opt for the blade approach. Both products are made by a company named Withco
Thier knob product is here:

Thier blade product is here:

Regards,
Jim

I have been very happy with the blade type disconnect. Positive connection and disconnect every time. The knob kind has a history of sometimes not fully connecting or disconnecting. Just make sure that you connect it to the negative terminal. I disconnect my 72 EVERY time I shut the engine off.
