BBK throttle body noise

I recently installed an after market 52mm t/b by BBK on my lt4. The only problem is this thing whistles like nobodys business. Has any one used this brand before or ran into this problem?

The sound is probably normal - kinda like when you replace a paper air filter with an oiled high flow filter.


This is one of the mods that, by itself, does not gain that much. Add some head work, hot cam, then you're talking.

I have one on my Car(BBK). It does not whistle? Good Luck

Hey ken, the only reason i had to go with the BBK is because i have a 96 Impala and i needed that second little knob so i could hook up my cruise control. I guess the LT4 vettes have an electric controled cruise while mine has a cable that hooks to the t/b. I've heard that all BBK's whistle though????.

I also have the 52mm BBK, and I also have the whistling/sucking noise. As best I can tell, it's coming from my airfilter (K&N w/ cut lid). Honestly, I kinda like it, sounds a bit like a jet engine... :L

Yeah Boomer i guess i'm starting to get used to the whistle. As a matter of fact it kinda grows on you. Mine even gives off one last whistle right after you shut the car off.
