"bucket" brings up a growing problem in the C4 community with BCM failures and no more new parts available.

You said older C4 boards (CCM/PCM) can't be written to. If the newer ones ARE capable of being written to, then newer ones should work if spec operating parameters can be written into the boards for older machines.

Isn't that what Blue Streak is doing?

I never said CCM calibrations can be changed in the field by DIYs.

I don't know what Blue Streak is doing other than making ignition parts and selling scan testers.

As for BCM availabllity, I did a little digging and found that GM does have reman BCMs for C4s. The new units are discontinued but reman is available but are on back-order until mid-July.

I get my parts from Tom Henry Racing, a GM parts dealer in PA. They can order the reman BCMs as long as you understand there's a waiting period.

gm says they dont plan on restocking this unit..its unavailable and you cant order it..at least from gm or any dealership or ac delco or any ac delco distributer..
