Belt Tensioner Bearing Replacement...Finally

Just finished changing mine out. Took about 1/2 hour total, real easy to do.

1. Loosen the A/C accumulator (just loosen the bracket, don't disconnect any hoses) so you can move it out of the way.

2. Using a 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar in the square hole on the tensioner, push it away from you and down to loosen the belt, remove the belt from the tensioner and move belt out of the way.

3. Using a 15mm socket, remove the bolt from the tensioner (right hand threads).

4. Remove the tensioner from the engine.

5. Using a 13mm socket remove the pully from the tensioner. (again, right hand threads)

6. The bearing is pressed into the pully. I bought a NAPA part #6203-2RSJ bearing. Bring the old one in to NAPA and they can cross reference the part number off the old bearing.

7. Press out the old, press in the new bearing. Real easy to do.

8. Reinstall in reverse.

Cost of the bearing was $9.69.

Good Luck

Right hand threads means that to loosen you turn clockwise correct? Thanks!!!

So is the tensioner bolt a standard thread or is it opposite? Righty tighty lefty loosey is standard. Sorry for the confusion, but I dont want to strip the treads. Thanks!!
