Every time I get caught in the rain if the windshield is not really wet the wipers drag and colide with each other. Usually the driver side blade gets bent on the tip. Sometimes it flips over. Brand new blades. Any thoughts out there?

My 85 does the same thing. I am thinking of putting a smaller blade on the drivers side, maybe 20 or 21 inch instead of the 22 inch blades. This might give a little more clearance where they pass each other.

Mike :)

I had the same problem many years ago with my '92. I seem to remember that the dealer had to adjust where the wipers were attached to the linkage. I believe there is a page in the service manual that specifies exactly where the blades need to be.

Hope this helps!

I don't know if yours would be different than my '89, but on mine, the wiper arms slide onto a splined shaft. You need to remove a retaining clip and then you can lift the arm off the shaft and rotate it a bit so they won't colide anymore. I had to readjust mine in a motel parking lot in AZ three years ago. It was the first time I had driven in enough rain to know they weren't aligned properly.:L

At least your wipers work!
