Best spark plug LT4

Need best plug for My LT4. Denso,IT 16, IT20, NGKTR55,E3 ??;squint: Just got MSD Wires.

Is that a plain TR55?? I see others with letters. The gap says 0,50 Shouldn't they be 0.35? Another person said Denso.and cooler plug for the street. Any thoughts?:ugh

"E3s" are marketing gymicks.

TR55 is a little on the warm side for my taste but if the car is a show car, waxer or frequently driven on short trips, it is a great choice.

My current choice in spark plugs and what I've used since the early '00s is the Denso Iridiuum Power.

IT16 is the recommended heat range but, like the TR55 it's a little on the hot side and is not the heat range I'd use in a 96 LT4 unless the car sees a lot of short trips.

I'd go with the IT20. Great choice for street cars driven in a "sporting" manner.

Thanks Hib I think I will go with the IT 20, I do like to get on it once in a while. I put about 1,000 in a season on it.I am still in Fl.going north soon can't wait to start working on it

For your 96, the plug Denso suggests is the IT-16, but a better choice is the slightly colder IT-20.
It will go into your 96.

HIB I saw that the TR55 plugs show a gap of .049. Does that sound right? I am used to gapping about .035. Can you help ?:ugh

Regardless of what plug you use, the gap should be set at whatever GM recommends for an LT4. The plug gap is likely listed in your Owner's Manual.
