Hi All !
I just purchased a low mileage garage-kept 1998.
Paint looks nice and has no swirls etc.
What brand wax should I use to protect the finish ?
thanks
Dave

Thanks
Where do I find it to buy ?
On-line or in stores ?

Club Zaino

Just today I got 2 compliments at work on the finish. Mine is Torch Red and had bad swirl marks. 14 Coats better look good.

You can buy direct from them, Eckler's etc. Get ready to work and follow the advice from them, all the product sequences. Especially the towels. That is where the swirls come from. It's far less work in the long run and looks the best.

I use Meguiar's myself, and think their stuff does a pretty darned good job. I hear everyone rave about Zaino, but it seems to be an awful lot of steps. Anyway, I think mine looks pretty awesome after a good cleaning and application of Meguiar's Gold Class wax.

what steps, wipe it on, then wipe it off. I use zaino and it goes on easy and wipes off easy, and on a c5 it does not take long. If you are going to do multiple coats at one time there are some steps to take, but for a one time application it is the same as any other.

I tried Zaino, I went back to the Meguires products. Use a product that you will like for your car. We all have our preferences.

I used to be a Meguires (sp?) man until just recently when I purchased and used Zymol. Excellent product (IMO)! I've never used anything better. Deep, rich finish and no effort at all. It seems it does to paint what conditioner does to leather....rich and butter-soft.

Just my $0.02.....

This is the correct answer above!

My preference is Liquid Glass.

Im liking the mothers and turtle wax color cure every once in a while. Does a great job and is available at MOST STORES unlike Zaino.

Zaino works for me. Be sure to be VERY stingy with it. When they talk about a "haze", you will be thinking like what wax does... and what they mean is something you can barely see. A nickel sized dollup should do almost half the hood.

If you put it on heavy, you will not like how it turns out.

i went through the same questions about wax when i bought my c5. finally, i decided on zaino and i absolutely love it. it's easy to use and the layering effect is really cool (you'll get addicted to putting more and more coats on). the car looks awesome and really holds it's shine for a long time. it's worth giving it a shot.

Thanks for all your informative comments.

lemon scent

i use pledge lemon scent sprays on wipes off fast, one coat!

lemon scent pledge

The silicone in Pledge can make doing paint work later more interesting.

It's subjective.

Different waxes give different appearances and results on different colors, and some people prefer more or less reflective finishes. Too much shine can sometimes detract from the color. What works for one person with one color car may not work for someone else.

You may end up trying several to get what you want. At some point, you might want to attend a Corvette show and talk to someone with a car like yours and an appearance you like.

Products like Liquid Glass and Zaino generally last longer than carnauba waxes, but some people prefer natural waxes.
