The Best C5
Naming a C5 that’s the best is all in how you would describe “best”. As the manufacturing process improves each year, every consecutive year marginally gets better in materials and manufacturing. If you’re talking about the BEST C5, you would have to identify the C5 that had the greatest impact on the Corvette world, which is the 1997 Corvette. This is the ONLY totally new, 100% redesigned Corvette ever produced -- the 1998 to current cars are slightly improved models or variants (Z06) of the benchmark 1997 C5 -- the point or origin for all C5’s. Since nothing was carried over from the C4, or any other production Chevrolet product, problems were anticipated and quickly taken care of. My ‘97 hasn’t experienced many of the problems that I‘ve heard owners of Y2k+ models write about in the CAC.
By reading all of the member responses, it only goes to prove the theory that the best C5 is ANY C5.
