Why not go with the 245/60SR15? Fills the wheel well much better. :D

I replaced my old worn T/A's with another set of new T/A's a couple of years ago and would do so again in a heartbeat. They are great. Big improvement over the Dunlops that my buddy has on his 80.

I put a set on my 64 last year and I love them. It is a great set of tires for the money.

If these Dunlops can come close to handling 567 ft-lbs. of torque, I'd say they were doing a pretty good job.

Mind you, I drive sensibly now. ;)

I used the same size on my 69 & 72 like them. Too bad you weren't in CT because I have a brand new, never used set sitting in storage that I'd let go for $200.

Just put a set on my 73 and made a huge differance!!

Joe, sure hate to sound like a lawyer, but do you mean a good difference? If so, in what way?

Tom, right now I have 275 60 15s on the back and 225 70 15s on the front, all on 15 by 7" alloys. I just lowered the rear (8" bolts from VB&P) to get it closer to stock height, and now the rear tires just foul on the spring ends. As a temporary fix I've put washers under the wheels (I know - not good) so my plan is to go narrower.

Ultimately I want to get back to a stock look with Ralley wheels (anyone wanna buy my alloys?) which is why I'm looking at the 225s. That said, I like the idea of the 245s. Are you using the Radial T/As, and how are they working out for you?

John

In a good way

John

I had a set of older Good Year Eagles when I bought the car a couple of years ago. Although they looked good they were aging. I am saying that the BF Goodrich made a vast improvement in the ride of my car. Im running 22570sr15 all the way around

There are plenty of nice-looking wheels out there, but I share your love of ralley wheels...............in my case with the '67 centre. Yes, that's a Dunlop. ;)

There's another factor to consider. Dunlop is now owned by an American tire company, whereas B.F.Goodrich is owned by a French tire company. ;LOL

I agree

I think the Chevy ralley Wheel was and still is the best looking wheel wheel out there even after 40 + years.....my opinion

I'm in agreement....
Rallye wheels and BFG T/A's, 255/60's all the way around...

I love 'em!

The 245/60R15 should fit all around without any interference. Those are what I had on my previous '73 and they worked great. My current '73 has that size in an old off brand. Plan to switch to the BFG 245/60R15 this summer.

But the 225's are the closest to the stock size tire.
