hi,,,i got a big block hood on the 64 coupe i just bought..and i would like to know how can i tell if its a real hood or an after market one...is there and markings or numbers anywhere?? thanx again

If the underside of the outer panel is nice and smooth all over, chances are it's OEM (they were press-molded in matched steel dies); aftermarket ones were generally hand-laid in a female mold, and they have a very rough surface on the underside.

wow great news...just checked the hood and its smooth and it does have the round rivets (very flat) i guess i got lucky there and its a plus for my new c2..the man i bought it off also gave me another hood too and its an original too but they cut a hole in it years ago.,,they had a tunel ram intake with a dual quad on the motor,,,he gave me those pieces too..i guess ill get rid of those pieces and the cut hood,,i like the big block hood better and it looks NASTYYY!!! my c2 is black on black,,,thanks guys for the info

oh by the way,,do you think the cut hood is worth any decent money??
