Big block in a 1981

Has anyone in this forum put a big block in a 1981?

Put a big block in a 77. Don't know if that may help.

Hmmm...that would be interesting. Is there enough clearance? You talking about a 454 or 427 or crate engine or what?

You can readily put a big block in any C3. But you may need to change the hood...

Yes, I figured a little more clearance up at top would be necessary. Just a good reason to get an L88 hood.

I have been looking at the GM crate motors. The 454 with 425 hp is the engine that has my attention. My next obvious question is canthe rear take the extra HP or does that need to be changed also.
