I have been looking around for a C4 to use as a touring machine companion for my '67. The problem is the seats. I'm kind of a big fellow, 6' and 280, wear XXL shirts. The '94 and on are ok because the seats are flater and not so confining, but the earlier ones with the buttons in the bolsters (sport seats?) are terrible, unless those buttons adjust things in some way. All the high option cars seem to have them.

My question then is if it is possible to replace the seats from a later/earlier year, or some kind of custom seat - Recaro comes to mind. Anyone have any thoughts or been there done that stories?

This is a great tool, isn't it?...........................Grizzly

I try to give you some input here as no one else has! I put a set of 94 seats in my 85. The are a big improvement. I looked into quite a few aftermarket seats and am not sure any that feel better will fit. In the 60's & 70's there were a few places that would custom fit a Recaro to you and install it in your car! I haven't been able to locate anyone like that now (near me) but if you are serious that would be the best way to go. if your not interested in the later C4 seats.

me too

I have the same problem. Would it be possible to convert sport seats to the standard ones by just changing cushions and covers? I fit much better in the standard seats.

I think the frames are the same so yes it should work fine! usually you can get new foams and covers for around $900 to $1000 Alknoch is the best. (no lumps in the foam)
