I saw this ad while surfing... "You are bidding on a 1992 Corvette Convertible.
** LOW MILES **68,500
With a 5.7 liter V-8, 350 horsepower engine, speed is the name of the game.
The color is the anniversary black rose with callaway racing stripes - a sharp look! It has tan leather interior and tan top. "

Now I know a bit about the Callaway cars but have yet to see one painted like this...

What do you think???

I think Callaway would be ashamed of putting a car that looked like that on the road.

I think the Walmart down the street from the owners house ran out of .94 a can Gloss White. (It takes all kinds , doesn't it?)Jim

A little bit of knowledge

can be dangerous. Amazing how people get some of the facts wrong all of the time: anniversary colour - black rose? 92? I thought it was ruby red in 93? 350 hp engine - can't find that option listed anywhere? I won't mention the Callaway stripe but if my car was defaced like that I wouldn't have bought it.

I'd expect my "brand new" tyres to have less than 3,000 miles too, preferably 0 miles. Glad a Corvette "handles like a true sports car ", I can sleep better now.

Some dealer has an 89 anniversary Corvette for sale. Someone better snap that one up as it's the only one ever made - sure makes a change from all those 88's.

If I may... this car will be truly an adoption of the heart for the person who obtains it. Did it happen to say in the ad " buyer beware"? Sorry... I hope it does find a good home and is returned it's dignity! (that's just my opion and no one else's )

I guarantee that the striping is NOT from Old Lyme - That paint job is crying;help

I am trying to think of just ONE Callaway that was painted close to that - Nope:nono

"Callaway Racing Stripes"???? :L :L

I bet those are good for an extra 10hp. :D

I'd take it for that amount of money. My only issue with the whole thing is that the stripes aren't applied properly, with the space between them obviously not synched up with the middle of the C4 logo. It isn't like a (sorry to keep bringing them up) Mustang where it's obvious it's a fake GT or a Cobra, because more people know what those are. When I say Callaway, people think I'm talking golf and not Corvettes.

So yeah, I'd take it.

I was at my local Chevy dealer today talking with their Corvette specialist and I saw this exact car being dropped off in the bay. I had to check the ebay link to see if it was the same car. Now I don't remember the stripes, but the color and the 95/96 side vents with the luggage rack through me off. Luggage rack told me it was a 92, the side vents said maybe not, but they can be added. The sport seats made it even more confusing. I may stop by in the morning on the way to work to check it out again. I would find it hard to believe there are two of these cars in existance and both of them were in FL. ;)
