Anyone know the dates for the 2008 Corvette Classic in Bloomington illinois?

That show ran in both 2004 & 2005. I attended both shows. I really enjoyed myself both times.! :upthumbs

Was discontinued because the fella running the show relocated to Georgia.

The show is alive and well. The show is in St Charles, IL, at/on the Pheseant Run Golf Club. I've attended the last few years.

74 stingray asked about the "Corvette Classic Show" in Bloomington, IL.

I stand by my previous answer above. There WAS a "Corvette Classic Show" in Bloomington, IL during 2004 and 2005. The show was started because the Bloomington Gold Show (see above!) had moved and a bunch of Vette fans felt we needed a show where IT all started. I was very enthused about the show. Much smaller affair but everyone knew everyone at the show. The gentleman running that show relocated to Georgia and found it impossible to organize and run a show from an out of state location.

The Bloomington Gold Show started 35 years ago in Bloomington, IL. Went to Springfield, IL for several years and then back to Bloomington for a couple of years. Finally was moved to St Charles, IL at the Pheasant Run Resort.

The Bloomington Gold Show was essentially a swap meet started by two fellas that got tired of looking around for parts for their Vettes. The show grew and grew until they sold it. Now it is the most revered show in the Corvette hobby. Judging & certification of Corvettes was incorporated and the show is much more than a swap meet.

The show has lost some of its intimate feeling due to the change of venue and the expansion of the show. I miss the old days when you could count on seeing a lot of your friends during the weekend. Cost of entering the show has risen along with the cost of renting vendor spaces. They call this progress, right? ;LOL

Hope this helps clarify! :beer

Contact David Burroughs. He's Mr. Bloomington Gold and can fill you in on all the details of the show. Where it started; where and when it has moved; where it's headed, etc.
