I'd like to try using a leaf blower to dry my cars when washing them.

There are so many different ones out there on the market.

One advertised here in the local paper:

9 amp blower vac
150 mph/240cfm
12,500/15,000 rpm

It's on sale for $60 CDN.

Does it sound like it would do the job???

Ron ... :confused

Dunno. The Toro I've got claims 215mph and was about US$50. It's adequate and works best if used without any of the attachments. I can't say they fully dry the car, but they get the recesses, and what's left can be done with a light wipe using one towel that will barely be wet when finished.

Pretty much agree, but I made a transition sleeve that fits over the end of the leaf blower. It is attached to 6’ of flex vacuum hose with the blade attachment on the end. Now air is highly focused and at an extremely high CFM.

I don’t particularly like using it to dry the car, but it is a wonder for blowing the engine compartment and all those other hard to get to areas inside and under the car.

Too bad Martha Steward doesn’t do automotive. :D

Imho, a leaf blower is just blowing dirt and dust right back on your car. The blower itself accumulates dirt = swirl marks, etc. I guess it depends on one's definition of clean. Have a very peachy day. ;)

Never really looked at it THAT way, but I agree. I just knew I didn't care for it on the car. 99% is used for those hard to get to places under the hood.

i personally like blow drying the car......problem is it only takes me 3.8 sec to do it;)

IMO unless perhaps you use a blower as a vacuum/mulcher then the air discharged is only as dirty as the air drawn in. I could see a possible accumulation of dirt if the tool is used in a dirty environment.
