my 79 vette has only high speed on heater blower where is the switch to be replaced and what is it called

Do you have the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? The AIM shows the installation of the switch and lists its original part number.
The "switch" is actually a resistor for the blower motor and it's usually on the AC box under the hood.
