Question: Blue smoke

Always something new. I have the L82 engine and get a puff of blue smoke out the exhaust for bout 1/2 a block when first starting and driving the car then seems to stop. I have had my wife follow me and does seem to burn oil after the initial start. Will do the same thing after sitting for a while - at work - during the day. Is this a sign of bigger repair bills soon to come.

Sounds like valve seals... no biggie

Another sure sign of old valve stem seals is if you take off after sitting at a stop light and puff a blue cloud behind you, then it stops after you get going.

Could be something else, but I would change the valve seals as a starter.

Valve Seals. This is common. I had the same problem.
